Web 2.0 Websites

www.schooltube.com
This website is an innovative way to teaching. There are multiple videos created by students and teachers on a variety of subjects. From science and history, to art and music, this website has it. It's a creative and collective way students can interact with each other and other teachers while learning.

www.gotbrainy.com
This website displays a fun take on vocabulary. It uses pictures, often in a sarcastic or mocking nature, as an example of the vocabulary word being taught. It also has videos demonstrating how the word can be used. The website can be used as a tool in a fifth grade classroom, as well as high school and English language learners. I think it can be especially helpful to learners who have a better understanding of a word when a visual example is given.

Example:

Zealous
Clearly, little Webster is over zealous about coloring.

www.edmodo.com
This website is a great tool for teachers to interact with their students outside of the classroom. You can create lesson plans, surveys, and quizzes based on the lesson plan.
